About Nutrition Education Site

The SNAP-Ed/EFNEP Southern Regional Center of Excellence in Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention (RNECE-South) at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (UNC) and North Carolina State University (NCSU) is an integrated project funded by a collaborative effort between the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) and National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) in order to improve the health of low-income Americans through multiple strategies, including complementary nutrition education and public health approaches, particularly as pertains to SNAP-Ed and EFNEP.

RNECE-South.org serves as a resource and networking portal for implementers, evaluators, and stakeholders that are involved and interested in nutrition education and obesity prevention for under-served populations through direct nutrition education and policy, systems, and environmental change.
